Lime Solicitors’ clinical negligence team is growing in the West Midlands with the transfer of legal director James Anderson to Birmingham.

Previously based in the East Midlands, Anderson will now lead the development of the law firm’s clinical negligence offering in the west of the region.

Anderson – who joined the team as a paralegal in 2013 before qualifying as a lawyer in 2017 and becoming general counsel – specializes in birth injuries, missed cancer diagnoses, orthopedic injuries and claims for negligent surgeries.

He said: “I am really delighted to have moved to the Birmingham hub and to help expand our offering in the city and the wider West Midlands region.

“I became a clinical negligence lawyer because I have a passion for helping people. Giving my clients a voice and fighting to get the answers they deserve is extremely rewarding.

“While the primary duty of a healthcare system is to do no harm, sometimes things go wrong and care falls below an acceptable standard, which can lead to injury or health complications.

“Clinical negligence claims play a vital role in protecting patients from negligent treatment, ensuring healthcare professionals learn from their mistakes to prevent something similar from happening in the future.”

The Lime Solicitors Clinical Negligence Team began in 2010 with partners Robert Rose, Neil Clayton and Nikki Fahey. He was based solely in Leicester until Neil moved to London to develop the wider team in the capital.

In 2021, the London team welcomed several new experts when they transferred from Hudgell Solicitors. Since then, the team has grown to more than 40 people.

Head of Clinical Negligence, Robert Rose, said: ‘Since joining us almost a decade ago, James has developed into an excellent clinical negligence lawyer who has worked tirelessly to get answers for his clients and obtain compensation to allow them to move forward in their lives.

“As part of this expansion, we will continue to provide excellent customer services across the UK, with additional support in another area of the Midlands. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and shows positive organic growth, as well as our willingness to invest in the development of our people.
