The Nelsons law firm has added a new partner and senior partner to its employment law team.
Beth Bearder joined the Derby office as a senior partner, while Amir Ahmed joined the office as a partner based in Leicester.
Bearder has been a qualified lawyer for over eight years, having previously worked at Knights. Meanwhile, with over six years of experience, Ahmed worked at the national law firm Weightmans as a trainee lawyer, before qualifying in 2020. They both specialize in several areas of employment law, including discrimination, unfair dismissal complaints and employment contracts.
Bearder said: âI am delighted to have joined one of the region’s leading law firms which is so well respected by other professionals. Nelsons culture, vision and values ââhave all resonated with me, and I love to empower my clients and guide them through the complex legal issues they face.
âNo two days are alike and I like working as a team. So I look forward to working in the exceptional employment department alongside Laura, Peter, Melanie, Ella, Sonia and Amir. It is an exciting time for the firm as we approach 2022 and I am keen to build relationships with existing clients as well as develop new relationships with clients â.
Ahmed added: âBeing from Leicester, I was keen to join a law firm with a strong presence in the East Midlands and Nelsons has a very well respected employment team, which I look forward to working with.
âNelsons has a clear and focused business strategy, as well as a huge focus on education, training and learning, which is also extremely important to me. The culture in the office is so positive, the team here is very friendly and I can’t wait to see what the months and years ahead hold for me as I settle into my new role.
Laura Kearsley, Nelsons Employment Team Manager, said: âWe are delighted to welcome Beth and Amir to the team. The past year has been an incredibly busy one for our department, which means we are looking for people who we believe would make a perfect addition to our offices. I can’t wait to see them flourish in their new roles.
