Mahdi Hussein maintains an extensive and diverse practice in commercial litigation and class action defense. He has represented clients before the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal.

Prior to joining Fasken, Mahdi practiced with a leading regional law firm in Toronto where he represented a wide range of institutional clients, including insurers, financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, emerging technology companies , consumer goods distributors and engineering and architecture firms. As part of his practice, he regularly represents clients in contested motions, adjudicative hearings and settlement conferences. Through sound and strategic judgment, Mahdi’s ultimate goal is to achieve the optimal resolution for his clients, whether best achieved in the courtroom or through rigorous negotiations.

Mahdi received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2016. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 2013.

Outside of the firm, Mahdi provides pro bono legal services to several not-for-profit organizations and regularly represents individuals on a pro bono basis in legal proceedings and court hearings.
